Massage ball therapy for biceps injuries
Injuries and tears of the biceps muscle are part of various sports and ageing.
If you’ve already suffered a biceps injury, reducing inflammation and pain is a priority. Cooling and icing the biceps is still an accepted method, although it is often debated by the profession. Essential oils or other cooling herbs such as rosemary, lavender, peppermint and eucalyptus have shown good results. In addition to reducing inflammation, it is essential to revitalise, gradually mobilise and then load the damaged muscles. Massage and physiotherapy can play an important role in this. During massage, the injured biceps muscles should be massaged in the direction of the shoulder and trapezius muscles.
Choose a massage ball, such as the JK9 Massage Ball, which has a control cord so that you can move the ball from bottom to top at the desired points. When using the massage ball, lean against the wall in a standing position and bend your knees to help the ball move up your upper arm. The thrust is provided by your own body weight and the intensity of the massage can be increased or decreased depending on how much you lean on the ball.
